スティング待望の新作はなんとクラシック・アルバム！クラシックのレーベル「DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON」からリリースされるこの作品。全編16世紀の音楽をリュートとスティング自身のヴォーカル、コーラスのみで構成。リュート楽曲の作曲家として有名なジョン・ダウランドの楽曲をプレイしています。なおアルバムの制作にはボスニアのリュート奏者であるエディン・カラマーゾフが協力しているそうです。

スティングmeetsリュート音楽ってジャスト...

スティングmeetsリュート音楽ってジャストミートな感じがします。元々コントラバス弾いてクラシックやジャズ、民族音楽が混交された、音楽史を紐解くようなソロ活動をしてきた訳ですからね。雰囲気としてはSoul Cagesに似てそうですが（ジャケも似てる）、さあどんなんやろ。
